More recent ‘Big Hair Art’.

So, here’s some of my more recent big hair art. I’m now bringing in other cultures…African and Indian are 2 that I’ve done which has been great fun using their relevant artistic patterns.

Adult Colour Therapy Book

So these two were 2 of my original ‘Big Hair Art’ pieces, which I have stripped of colour, and they do lend themselves very well to adult colouring. I’ve approached many publishers with some examples, and one has said they want to see more, which they now have. It’s up to 6 weeks maybe before I hear anything, and should that come to nothing I do plan to self publish. I’m under no illusions what so ever! Anyhows we’ll see…  And I think I wore my poor computer out as the day I tried to resend the email with the 27 page attachment… it broke…! So I had to send a hard copy, which fortunately I did print off the night before.

Well, it’s been a while…..

Yes it certainly has! But I have been making lots of art; trying new mediums, subjects, and just loving it all. Social media. Hmm, there’s a thing. Soooo much hard work to keep up with it, and clearly this blog has taken a real back seat! I only do my business Page in Face Book, and Instagram; and without doubt in my mind they are essential to keep updating on a regular basis. It’s just the way it is. I’ve also done a few small exhibitions – and sold 2 framed signed prints! (It’s a start!), and I’ve had a few commissions now too.

I’ve created my website, complete with shopping facility:  click on the link to pay a visit. There’s prints and original work for sale   www.lynneartystuff.co.uk

I’ve also now opened my Etsy shop:  www.etsy.com/uk/shop/lynneartystuff  Again, here all my work, prints and originals are available and I’m updating as I create new works. Do drop by!

image.jpegWell. It’s certainly been a while since I wrote on here. The builders have well and truly gone now, and I am throwing myself into my art. It’s all or nothing with me, and at the moment it’s all I’m doing! Quite worrying really! I’ve become quite obsessive with it, and it’s taken over. And I’m going from one sort of style to another, tho all within the realm of sort of whimsical art, with masses of colour and patterns. Any how’s here are my newest pieces, which can also be found on my Face Book Pages page.

The process

image imagethought I’d share the process I use for this newest art of mine….not that it’s anything special at all….(it just gives me something to write about!).  I obviously start with a pencil sketch, tho I have to be careful, as once the pen colour goes over the top, the pencil marks cannot be erased, and some colours are more transparent than others…so a bit of thinking ahead is necessary.  Coming up with the various patterns is always  quite a task, and also which colours to use…is there too much of this…not enough of that…        Then it’s filling in with the main blocks of colour, which is where I’m at with this one now.

The next stage is where the whole thing goes ‘pop’, by adding all the final details….. White marks…black lines….dots…diamonds…shading with the less vibrant pens…. It goes on. Basically  each picture is done in layers.

Still at it …!

im on a mission to keep at this, as I would like to get some on one or two art selling websites. I’m spending much longer on each one; I’ll get the basic shapes done first in a sketch, fill in with blocks of colour, and hen go over the whole thing again with all the details, and that is the part where they come alive.  There is a lot of this kind of art about…big colourful hair. Obviously lots of us 60/70’s girls with memories of the Physcadelic art!                                                                          Anyways, here’s my latest 2. You’ll notice that one has holly, stars, and baubles…hmmm… It’s meant to be a Christmas card! Actually, if there is anyone there reading my little blog, and sees this one, let me know what you think of its potential as a Christmas card! I really appreciate honest helpful criticism – you won’t offend me!

‘Bird Brain’

image interestingly this painting original had a hand under the chin but it didn’t work! So I had to cut it out, stick the main drawing onto another support, and continue in the same vein as the rest.  For this reason it will only be available as prints.

imageimageimageSo here they are, not sure what had caught their attention! Tonto is on the right and Yoyo the left. He is 2kg heavier than she is! A right old whopper!

We also have a new addition to the household, Mollie, our working cocker. She is now a year old, and along with Bessie our Jack Russel, that’s 4 4 legged friends, who do all get along, thankfully!
